"...when the Arabs will love their children..."

Golda Meir stands out as one of the more blatantly racist of Israel's leaders over the years (a contest in which she has stiff competition to this day). One of her more famous quotes was that "Peace will come when the Arabs will love their children more than they hate us". Because you see, clearly anyone who fights for their very survival after and while being ethnically cleansed simply has misplaced blind rage towards some innocent other and doesn't truly love their children. No really, it's true, why don't you believe me? I mean look at all those Bosnians, making all their lame excuses about being upset over being ethnically cleansed, starved, raped, gunned down in mass graves. Everyone knows the *real* problem was that they just hated Serbs and didn't love their children. And the blacks in South Africa, they could have brought peace so much easier if they would have just given in to their benevolent, loving Apartheid overlords. But noooooooo, they just clearly hated Afrikaners more than they loved their own children.

Which is why the following is so perplexing...a letter...from a Palestinian father to his children in 1938...expressing what appears to genuine, heartfelt love for his children. Almost 20 years *before* Golda Meir showed the world that Arabs had not yet learned to love their children like the rest of us! How can this be?! An Arab, loving his children??? "Impossible!" the Israeli government informs us, "they FORCE us to shoot their unarmed children and destroy their houses over their heads and torture their fathers and rip up the olive groves that feed their families and steal the water that is supposed to nourish their babies. Clearly THEY don't love their children when they force US to do these things to them." (Really, it's true, Israeli soldiers never shoot innocent civilians of their own free will and choice, there is always an invisible Palestinian who sneaks up behind Israeli soldiers, pulls his finger down to the trigger and as the Israeli soldier screams "no, no, don't make me shoot that terrorist baby" the invisible Palestinian forces the Israeli soldier to pull the trigger against his will. It's true, ask any Israeli soldier, they will all tell you between their tears how pained and anguished they are by it and how they need billions of dollars in annual American aid to pay for psychological treatment and ammunition resupply.)

I don't understand, it is so perplexing, can someone please explain this apparently loving letter from an Arab (gasp!) father to his children me? It must be a forgery right? It can't possibly be the Golda Meir was promoting racist ideas that Arabs are sub-humans who don't love their children like everyone else...can it?

[Click image to see in detail: May 1938 letter by Fuad Saba, member of the Arab Higher Committee in Palestine, to his children from British-imposed exile in the Seychelles.]

[Fuad Saba pictured with other members of the Arab Higher Committee, he is standing top right. Background: by the late 1930s the Arab population of Palestine had seen the writing on the wall that the Zionist movement was determined to colonize and steal their country and had not come to live in peace as neighbors as the native Jewish population of the Holy Land had done for millenia before the overwhelmingly-European Zionists arrived. The British occupiers were ineptly maneuvering back and forth trying to please one side then the other and in the process bungling everything but ultimately allowing Zionist plans to march forward and disposses the native inhabitants of their homeland. An Arab uprising broke out which the British brutally crushed, flattening entire neighborhoods, arresting anyone even suspected of any political activity whatsoever, and exiling many Palestinian leaders. Fuad Saba, as a member of the Arab Higher Committee whose goal was independence and putting a stop to foreign plans to colonize his country, was exiled to the Seychelles from where he wrote the letter above to his children.]

you need to take a deep breath, count to ten, and re-examine yourself because you're talking nonsense and fighting straw men. you are arguing with yourself.

for an illuminating excercise, try to empathize with the Israeli POV. try, instead of dreaming up a cartoon vision of Israel as evil empire, to actually see things from Israel's perspective and understand that it's people--millions--and its supporters--many more millions--are not depraved evil racist warped individuals, like you might like to believe.

Why?
Is this still Europe?

Hmmm...don't seem to recall many Bosnian and South African mothers celebrating their child blowing him or herself up and going to heaven...maybe CNN just missed that part.

Meir was right. Who in the history of the world has ever forced their families into the arms of their political enemies? Only the Palestinians.

Have you checked out Al Aqsa TV children’s show (that's Hamas educational TV) lately? Where Farafur helps to teach Islamist supremacy and how great it it to become a suicide bomber.

Yeah, Meir was soo right.

as a person married to a palestinian, i can say with certainty that palestinians love their families, and particularly their children, enormously. seriously, i don't think i have met more family oriented people than arabs. its all about the family in that culture. golda meir's statement is vile hatespeech and nothing more. it is FALSE and dehumanizing propaganda yet, disturbingly enough, it is frequently employed by zionists and their sympathizers to underline how "primitive" and "hateful" the palestinians are. sickening. in reality, palestinians are some of the most generous, hospitable, and likeable people i've encountered. how do i know? i'm married to one!!! america needs to wake up and recognize the truth- that palestinians and arabs are human beings, just like the rest of us. and they love their children, just like the rest of us.

Yes "Anonymous" Arabs are human beings, kit's just a shame that the "religion of peace" as it is written and preached is turning it's people into the "religion of pieces".

If the Arabs were s fluffy and family orientated and protective of their children, they would have ousted the devils incarnate who preach hatred, racism, death and suicide murder.

If Islam is indeed "the religion of peace then it is time to GROW A SET OF BALLS and regard the part of the Koran and it's bloodthirsty "prophet" inciting "believers" to kill anyone who worships in the "wrong way" as HISTORY and move on.

If Islam cannot or will not, then it is NOT in any way the "Religion of Peace" when the only "peace" seems to be the "Peace of the GRAVE"

Finally, just how Golda Meir can be considered "racist" is the fantasy of a SICK MIND. her statement "Peace will come when the Arabs will love their children more than they hate us". is an ABSOLUTE TRUTH. The JOY that Palestinian mothers show at the death of their "loved" child in the act of MURDER, says otherwise to any sane person.

Stop attacking Israel and the attendant Jew hatred and peace WILL come, and quickly, IF you actually want it, which I personally doubt, you may have to make some concessions to your precious and arrogant "honour"

This is the thread that just keeps on giving: the sick racist Zionism-lovers just keep showing their true colors every time a decent person makes a simple sensible statement. Thanks Zeid for letting us know you are proud of your racism and Golda Meir's, now you can go join the local KKK meeting you're late for.

Golda Meir was a racist nazi, just like all the other zionist supporters. If David throws a rock at Goliath, he's a hero. If a kid throws a rock and is shot by a soldier in a tank, the kid's a terrorist. What a joke. Talk about a 'sick mind ' (@ Zeid).

You don't even have to be muslim. You could be a palestinian christian, a greek or armenian, and the zionists will spit on you and bulldoze your house (and deny you work permits to rebuild them).

Peace will not come on those terms - those who think so are delusional and need to take a deep breath, count to ten, and pull their heads out of their arses.

Typical zionist propagandists (LIARS): don't believe your eyes and ears, believe what we tell you.

Meir's vile, racist comment was not about, "mothers celebrating their child blowing him or herself up and going to heaven."

It was CLEARLY a threat to innocent Palestinian lives. It was the verbalization of a racist, illegal and totally immoral policy of targeting civilians and children. She was saying, "There will be peace when we've slaughtered enough of your children to break you." Zionists are the true terrorists.

I'm American and Catholic. It shouldn't matter, but the liars will always try to frame criticism as coming from Muslims only.

Fuad Saba, pictured in this blog and author of the letter, was my grandfather and namesake. He loved his children and grandchildren very much. He was the first Arab member of the UK Institute of Chartered Accountants. He founded Saba & Co., the greatest Arab accounting firm, in Jerusalem in 1926. He also was a Deacon in the Anglican church and a founder of the Saba & Co. Trademark and Patents firm. In 1948 he and his family - including my father - fled from Palestine under assault from the Zionist militia. He lived in Beirut, where I was born, for the rest of his life. Does this sound like a "terrorist" to you? The evil ex-librarian from Wisconsin who became Golda Meir was not worthy to lick the soles of his boots.

Zionist are the one who make Palestinians live in fear, darkness and hell. Not the Jewish People.

Judaism (Old Testament) is the foundation of the three great religions. Along came the New Testament or Christianity and lastly Islam and their teachings documented in the Quran.

The one thing that sets these religions apart is not value, prophets or commandments. It's time and change in religious uprising. Each religion has evolved into the next.

To say a Muslim hates Judaism or Christianity and a pure misunderstanding of a Muslims sentiments toward respected Jewish and Christian Prophets.

What this boils down to is a territorial agenda for the Israeli's and a freedom issue for the Palestinians.
How can we not see that this is not an equal battle.
The Palestinians are being denied any access to freely distributed international aide by a fascist apartheid mimicking the days of Nazi Germany and their strangle hold of the ghetto's in Warsaw.

This has extended all of over the Palestinian occupied lands. Their have even built a wall to enclose the Palestinian people in the world largest occupied illegal refugee camp, which the Israeli and the Western Media like to refer to as the West Bank.

Open your eyes and see the ongoing genocide of the Palestinian population by an aggressive, manipulative, illegal, fascist state of Israel.

Ps. The guy named "Zeid" is clearly some Zionist posing as a Arab to stir the post as usual.
